Waffle Flower Crafts October Challenge: Shaker Cards

Hello crafty friends and welcome to Waffle Flower Crafts monthy challenge!

This month challenge theme is shaker cards so if you love to make shakers, well, this challenge is for you.

From today until October, 11th, Natalia Neila, Michelle Burnier and I, will challenge you to create shaker cards with two or more shaker sections. Please visit their blogs to check the amazing projects they have created for this challenge.

From the moment I saw the Waffle Flower Crafts Slimline Rainbow die, I knew I was going to make a special rainbow shaker at some point. So I die cut five pieces out of white cardstock. I adhered some acetate to the first piece and then stacked the rest for some dimension. I wanted to add some embellishement in each arch so I wanted them to be thick enogh to house the litlle stars I added so I glued thin strips of foam adhesive to all the sections before adding all the embellishments.

To create an even more colorful card, I decided to ink blend the background. I used Waffle Flower Crafts Slimline Clouds Stencil and Distress Oxide inks (Tumbled Glass, Craked Pistachio, Wilted Violet, Kitchs Flamingo, Spiced Marmelade and Squeezed Lemonade) in the same colors that the embellishments I used to fill in the arches. They are not very visible though, apart from the top and bottom layers.

Next I colored the little Unicorns, adhered them onto the front panel and added the sentiment using vellum for the shadow layer and black glitter cardstock for the Happy Birthday word die.

I hope you liked this project and feel inspired to create a shaker with two or more sections.
